Google Analytics

Introduction

To start tracking visitors to your store with google analytics, firstly visit your “Settings” page and click on the “Advanced Settings” tab.

In the “Google Analytics” field, please insert your google analytics unique ID.

Finally, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Save settings” button.


What is a Google Analytics 4 (GA4) ID and Universal Analytics ID?

The Universal Analytics system in Google Analytics is the older version of their system which will be deprecated on July 1, 2023 (October 1, 2023 for Analytics 360 properties). The ID for Universal Analytics is formatted like "UA-000000-01"

The GA4 ID is the newest version of the Google Analytics system and starts with "G-".


How to find ID for GA4

Only GA4 properties have a "G-" ID.

  1. Sign in to your Google Analytics account.
  2. Click Admin.
  3. At the top of the Property column, select your property.
  4. In the Property column, click Data streams.
  5. Click the data stream for which you need the ID .
  6. Your "G-" ID appears in the top right.

How to find ID for Universal Analytics

Only Universal Analytics properties have a "UA-" ID.

  1. Click Admin in your Universal Analytics property.
  2. In the Property column, click Property Settings.
  3. Your "UA-" ID appears at the top of the Property Settings page.

Google Analytics for Ecommerce

If you wish to enable Google Analytics ecommerce tracking, follow these steps:

  1. Login to your Google Analytics account.
  2. Click Admin from your menu bar.
  3. Select the right Account, Property and View.
  4. Click Ecommerce Settings under the View column.
  5. Toggle “Enable Ecommerce” status to ON and click Next Step.
  6. Leave “Enhanced Ecommerce” Settings to “OFF”.
  7. Click Submit.
