Yvonne Bakke Thorsen

Born and raised in Norway has me strongly influenced by the Scandinavian style and I love simple designs with main focus on texture and materials and you can see that in most of my work.

I first started knitting when I became a mother and wanted to wrap my babies in soft and warm wool to protect them from the harsh winters we have up here, but I fell madly on love with the craft and I haven't stopped since. Because of this you will see that most of my earliest design are for children. Now that they are no longer babies, you will see more adult design knitted for me and also for them.

After knitting for 12 years I needed a new challenge and advanced to writing my own patterns and fell even harder in love with the craft. I first published them on Ravelry and was overwhelmed with happiness to see other knitters knitting my designs and It gave me even more joy.

After a couple of years I bought a sewing machine and started sewing projects bags and other accessories and when I did not need any more for myself I opened a Etsy store and sold them there. My next step is this website, because I now want a space where I can combine the two and offer everything as a package and I really hope this will be just as fun as the rest of my journey,

My day job is a 9-17 office job, so I am so grateful to be able to live out my creative side in my free time and being able to be a part of the wonderful community knitters provide. I am ever so grateful to the community for letting med share my work with them, cheering me on, teaching me new things and helping me develop my craft by giving me feedback and volunteering as test-knitters and other skillsets they may have and giving me their valuable time to help a stranger they never even met.

It really is a very special community, unlike any other, and I hope to be a part of that as long as my fingers can grab those needles.

So thank you for visiting my site and I hope to see you all around the web. I love seeing you guys and your wonderful projects.
