Ann J Pond

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Ann J. Pond moved to Mobile from New Orleans in 1992. She received her PhD in History at the University of Southern Mississippi in 2006, where she began researching the history of Mardi Gras on the Gulf Coast. She has taught at Spring Hill College, University of South Alabama, Faulkner State and Bishop State, and is always happy to talk about the subject of Mardi Gras and the South in the 1800’s. She is currently President of the Oakleigh Garden District Society, where she lives with her husband and four children.
