SAVING BEFORE 30

So, I just want to hop right into my REAL RAW story. My life completely changed at the age of 21 years old FOREVER. One day early April of 2017, I'll never forget I stood in the rain 7 months pregnant to fill out a housing application for an according-to-income apartment around Atlantic Terrance (known as 3rd World) in Southeast, Dc. First, let's be real southeast is the slums, but I been living here all my life, so I saw no problem with it and me and my baby needed our own. I'll fast-forward to the day I finally got the call to move in (September 2017), whewww it was a relief; I was living with my mom in a small room in her 3-bedroom townhome. Man, all my stuff was in storage because it just wasn't enough room for me and my baby especially with everything she had because she was just born.

We moved in and I wanted a fresh start, so OfCourse I started to buy everything I saw at the time only making $933 a check my rent was $633, I had a $320 car note, car insurance, utilities, and $250 daycare. This was what I called a struggle, I couldn't get approved for food stamps (tried and they gave me $14 me and my friend applied together by the Big Chair but that's another story, lol), section 8, and they weren't even trying to approve me for a daycare voucher. ATP I was so upset because I wanted things for my daughter that I never had growing up, and things just wasn't working in my favor just yet. The frustration in me brought out the hustle, so I started to get smart about things, started selling things I didn't need to buy new stuff, and I created a "stay down period" which I would do every few months for about 8 paychecks. During my "STAY DOWN PERIOD" I wouldn't get my hair, nails or feet done; I wouldn't buy anything new or go anywhere unless it was COMPLETELY FREE.

BUT.... let's just pick up at today I have obtained over six-figures saved between (investing, saving,Index funds, and more) I have two properties, life insurance, a college fund for my 4-year-old, and I can buy just about anything I want day in and day out. This is 5 years later.
