I Uploaded 2,195 AI-Generated Images to Adobe Stock. Here Are the 3 Biggest Lessons I Learned.
For the past few years, I've been immersed in the world of design—as an architect, a 3D specialist, and now, a digital artist in the AI space. Like many creatives, I saw the potential of AI image generation and decided to dive in headfirst, creating a large portfolio on Adobe Stock.
The journey involved countless hours, thousands of images, and a steep learning curve. My goal was to create visuals that were not just beautiful, but also commercially valuable. While the process is ongoing, the lessons I’ve learned are invaluable for any marketer, blogger, or business owner trying to make their content stand out. Here are the three most important ones.
Lesson 1: People Don't Buy Pictures, They Buy Concepts.
This is the single most important lesson. When I started, I thought in literal terms. If a blog post was about "business," I might look for an image of a "meeting." This is a mistake.
The internet is flooded with literal, generic photos. The real value of AI-generated art is its ability to visualize concepts.
Instead of searching for a noun, search for the idea behind it.
Look at the difference. A literal search for "AI" might give you a robot. A conceptual search gives you this:

This image tells a story of innovation, connection, and intelligence. It’s powerful. It stops the scroll. This is what your brand needs to do, and conceptual art is the most effective way to do it.
Lesson 2: Curation is the Most Underrated Skill.
Anyone can type a few words into an AI generator. The tool will spit out four, six, or eight images. The amateur saves all of them. The professional understands that
90% of AI output is unusable.
True value comes from curation. It's the artist's ability to:
When you choose a stock image, you aren't just paying for the AI's work; you're paying for the artist's eye. You're leveraging their expertise to curate a perfect, flawless image so you don't have to sift through the digital noise.
Lesson 3: A Cohesive Style is Your Brand's Best Friend.
The biggest problem with free stock photo sites is the lack of consistency. One day you use a photo from a bright, airy photographer; the next, a dark, moody one. Your brand's visual identity becomes chaotic.
A huge advantage of sourcing images from a single artist's portfolio is the ability to build a
cohesive aesthetic.
Professional digital artists often develop a signature style—a specific color palette, a recurring theme, or a consistent mood.
When you find an image you like, dive into that artist’s portfolio. You will likely find a whole collection of images that share the same high-quality, professional feel.
Using a consistent set of visuals makes your brand look more professional, polished, and memorable.
The Takeaway: Leverage Expert Curation
You don't need to become an expert in prompt engineering or spend hours generating and curating your own images. The secret is to leverage the work of artists who have already done the hard part.
By focusing on conceptual images and finding artists with a strong, cohesive style, you can elevate your content from generic to unforgettable.
