As the volleyball season winds down, it’s time to recognize the dedication and hard work of our coaches and assistant coaches. At my daughter's school, we celebrate their efforts at the Sports Banquet with thoughtful gifts that truly show our appreciation. Here’s a glimpse into how I organized and personalized these gifts to make them extra special.
Starting with Organization
To ensure everyone is on board and things run smoothly, a group text among volleyball parents is a fantastic way to kick off the gift-giving process. Below is a sample text of what I used to help you start the process:
This is Deb, Jocelyn's mom. I wanted to reach out to all the Volleyball moms to discuss our plans for the upcoming sports banquet.
As we prepare for the upcoming sports banquet, I wanted to discuss a thoughtful gesture of appreciation for Coach Josh and Assistant Coach Jen and John. Their dedication and positive influence on our girls deserve recognition!
Gift Plan:
• Contributions: Each parent can chip in $20 (you can give more or whatever you're comfortable with) for a group gift.
• Splitting: Most of the money will go to Josh, and the rest will be shared between Jen and John.
• Extra Gifts: I'll buy flowers for Jen
How to Do It:
⌚️Deadline: Please send your money by Wednesday, May 8th.
💵 Payment: You can Zelle 222-222-2222, give it to me in person, or give it to your child to give to Jocelyn Jocelyn is my daughter who is on the team. If you choose to send the money with your child please let me know so that I can let Jocelyn know.
Cards & Presentation:
• I'll make personalized cards that will be signed by the team during school.
• The money will go in a special card holder (I'll show you all a photo once I am done with it)
• The flowers and gift will be presented by the team or a representative from each team at the end of the Banquet.

For the main gift, money is always a thoughtful choice. It allows coaches to choose something they truly want or need. You can use this editable money card template to make the presentation more personal. You can find and customize these online with your team colors and logos on Canva. Assembling these cards is easy with envelopes, cardstock paper, and a plastic container, all easily available on Amazon.
