NEWS UPDATE:Robbery suspect cries for freedom
A Molepolole man charged with robbery appeared before Lobatse High Court Justice Boipuso Makhwe pleading for bail after spending the last 18 months in prison without trial.
Obusitswe Solotate said that he has appeared four times in Court applying for bail but officers from Dorectorate of Public Prosecutions are never present. However, the Court was left in stitches when the freedom fighter could not immediately provide his physical address, except remembering that he lives next to a bar at Goo Ntloolongwae Ward in in Molepolole. Justice Makhwe was prepared to grant him bail, but was hit with a surprise that Molepolole Magistrate refused to grant him bail on grounds that he had another robbery case before it. Nonetheless, the judge said the time he spent in prison was too long and promised to grant bail in two weeks after confirming some information.
