In My Line Art Era

The autumn has been quite busy with work. I feel like I haven't had time to make much art, but then again I have..

Earlier in autumn I was suddenly inspired to make a lot of line art (to be colored later) and while waiting the inspiration for the coloring part I ended up taking copies of these drawings and making coloring pages for my students. These coloring pages have been a hit with the teens and tweens who I teach so I decided to upload them here for everyone as well. You can find them here: Printable Coloring Pages - Payhip

I also decided to make all the printable and downloadable products I have here "pay what you want" -items. This means you can get them for free or you can add your own price to support me and my artistic journey if you like. 🥰

This year I decided to join the famous October art challenge, Inktober. Inktober has an art prompt for each day of October and I realized I wouldn't have time to draw something for each day of so I combined the prompts into eight different drawings. Even it was a bit tricky to think which topics to combine I had fun with the sketching and the line art part. I actually had all the eight drawings in the line art stage before October even started. But then it was time to color and for that I needed the whole October. I actually lost my motivation at some point but still managed to finish the challenge (a little late) 😅

Now that Inktober is done I can concentrate on the upcoming weekend when I'm going to sell my paintings, art prints, stickers, etc. at Subculture Festival! 🥳 It's going to be a fun and interesting weekend! I'm also bringing a few copies of the surrealistic poetry book by Tuukka Hämäläinen with me. Last year I got to make the cover art for this awesome book and it's the same style as all of my weird paintings.

Corpus Automaticum, a surrealistic poetry book by Tuukka Hämäläinen. The cover art by Elina Salo. In the background there are more of her weird and surrealistic paintings.

This Festival is held in Tampere, Finland. For more info, visit Subculturefest IG profile: Alakulttuurifest (@alakulttuurifest)

I hope after this weekend I'll finally have time to paint some more as I'm having a new art show next month AND I've sold some of my paintings this autumn! 🥳 So I'd probably need some more for the exhibition.. 😁
