Let’s Talk Artificial Intelligence — and Why It Will Never Touch My Music Productions

I started playing guitar in 2002 when I was 12. I would steal my older Brother’s acoustic from his room and sneak down to my Dad’s office in the basement. I opened some freeware on his work laptop and recorded soundtracks through a cheap mic to the images in my head and the emotions of the day. Joy, anger, heartbreak, boredom, hope. No lessons, no plan, just a kid trying to turn life into sound, one clumsy note at a time.

Twenty-three years later, music is still the one thing that has never left me. It has shaped every part of who I am. I am a guitar player, a composer, a producer, and an all-around music enthusiast. Each new instrument I collect or virtual instrument plugin I discover pushes me to create differently. Guitars, keyboards, drums, odd thrift-shop finds. 🎸🎹

From quiet nights in my bedroom, hunched over a guitar, to sweaty dive bars and intimate private events, music has always been my anchor. It carried me to Nashville, where I chased the dream and learned the business, and it followed me back home when I realized that path wasn’t right for me. Through heartbreak, small victories, and long, sleepless nights, music has remained constant, always present and always grounding.

Over the years, I’ve grown beyond just playing guitar. I became a composer, crafting melodies and textures that words cannot capture. I became a producer, shaping songs layer by layer, experimenting with soundscapes and instruments I collect along the way. Guitars, keyboards, drums, vintage oddities, even software plugins—every instrument adds a new voice, a new way to express what I feel. Every mile traveled, every gig played, every late night chasing a sound has left its mark on the music I create.

That is why I will never let AI create a single note of my music. It is not about hating technology. It is about loyalty to the thing that shaped my life. I need the calluses. I need the wrong notes that become the right ones. I need the nights when I sit surrounded by instruments, layering sounds until something honest appears. AI cannot replace that, and it does not belong there in my music productions. 🎧

BUT…

The business side of music is brutal and boring, lol.

PROs, royalty splits, streaming reports, metadata, contracts, invoices, spreadsheets. Every track comes with a mountain of paperwork I never signed up for. One wrong number or missed registration can cost weeks or even months of earnings. It is unavoidable if you want to make a living, but it is soul-sucking work that drains energy, creativity, and joy. No one warns you about this when you pick up an instrument 😱

This is where AI becomes a game-changer. 🤖

It handles the tedious, repetitive administrative work that would normally steal entire weekends. Spreadsheets, PRO registrations, royalty calculations, metadata management, streaming analytics, punching in numbers and text at command. AI clears the noise so I can focus on what matters. Writing, producing, recording, experimenting with instruments, layering sounds, following inspiration instead of chasing paperwork. It lets me stay creative instead of drowning in administration.

So no, AI will never touch my music. Not the notes, the chords, or the soul. But it will manage the chaos around it. It organizes the mess, creates visual identity, tracks the numbers, and handles everything I absolutely must do but do not want to. It keeps me a full-time musical artist instead of a part-time administrator.

At the end of the day, I am a musician, a composer, a producer, and a lover of instruments. I am not an admin clerk, accountant, studied businessman or graphic designer. I am here to make music, not spreadsheets. If AI lets me spend more time doing the thing that started when I was twelve in my Dad's basement with my Brother’s acoustic guitar, then that is net positive for my musical mission 🎶
