A lawyer by training, Mr. Seyoum’s acclaimed books concern serious social and political issues in Ethiopia. Until it was shut down by the Ethiopian government in August 2014, Mr. Seyoum was a regular contributor to the newspaper Addis Guday. He was also the producer of the acclaimed Ethiopian talk show “Ye Birana Lijoch,” and the radio program “Sheger Shelf,” both of which concerned literature.
