Ever feel like someone’s energy is still hanging around long after they’re gone? Maybe an ex, a friend who drained you, or even a family member whose words still echo in your mind? That’s likely because of energetic cords—unseen connections that form between you and others through emotions, interactions, and even past life ties.
Some cords are loving and supportive. Others? Not so much. When these attachments become draining, they can keep you stuck, exhausted, or even replaying old patterns. The good news? You can cut these cords and take your energy back. Here’s how.
Signs You Need to Cut Energy Cords
🔮 You feel exhausted or emotionally off after talking to someone.
🔮 Certain people or situations keep popping into your mind, uninvited.
🔮 You feel an unexplainable pull toward someone, even when you know it’s not good for you.
🔮 You're struggling to move forward in life, relationships, or personal growth.
If any of this sounds familiar, it’s time for a reset. Let’s get to work.
A Simple Cord-Cutting Ritual You Can Do Yourself
This method is easy, powerful, and works best when you approach it with intention. Find a quiet space and give yourself about 10–15 minutes to go through the process.
1. Set Your Intention
Start by grounding yourself with a few deep breaths. Then, say aloud or in your mind:
"I now release all energetic cords that are draining me. I reclaim my power, and I am free."
You can tweak the wording—just make sure it feels strong and clear.
2. Visualize the Cords
Close your eyes and scan your body energetically. Imagine any cords attached to you—some might look like vines, ropes, or threads. Notice where they connect. You don’t need to force anything—just observe.
3. Call in Support
If you work with guides, angels, or deities, now’s the time to invite them in. Archangel Michael is a go-to for clearing energy, but your higher self or any spiritual ally can assist. If you feel called, you can say:
"Archangel Michael, please cut and dissolve all cords that do not serve my highest good. Remove them completely and fill those spaces with light."
4. Cut & Release
Now, imagine holding a golden sword, a beam of light, or even a giant pair of energetic scissors. See yourself cutting through each cord, watching them dissolve. As they fade, feel yourself getting lighter, clearer, and more at peace.
5. Seal & Protect Your Energy
Once the cords are cut, visualize a sphere of golden or white light surrounding you, sealing your energy field. This strengthens your boundaries and prevents new unwanted cords from forming. Say something like: "I am sovereign. My energy is my own. I am protected and whole."
6. Ground & Integrate
To bring yourself fully back into your body, take a deep breath and imagine roots extending from your feet into the earth. Drink some water, stretch, or take a salt bath to help clear any residual energy.
