As a wedding business owner, it's important to take advantage of social media and digital marketing to reach potential customers.
Unfortunately, without the right strategies in place, many wedding businesses make mistakes that can prevent them from successfully engaging their target audience.
In this article, we'll look at the most common marketing mistakes for wedding professionals and offer tips for how to avoid them.
1 | Trying to get everyone to buy from you.
The type of content you post should not only attract clients or customers, but it should repel people who aren't a good fit for your brand. If you want to see an increase in your sales, it's time to get ultra specific about who your products or services are for.
2 | Not having a brand persona.
Your vibe attracts your 100% attracts your tribe. So what is your vibe? Is your wedding planning business fun and energetic, professional but personable? If you don't know what your vibe is, you'll attract all the wrong people.
3 | Posting just to post.
Your content should always be intentional. This means that everything you post brings your audience one step closer to buying, subscribing to your email list, visiting your website etc.
4 | Not having any idea why customers or clients should buy from you.
If you don't know why customers or clients should buy, you won't be able to clearly say what purchasing your product or booking your service will do for your clients or customers.
5 | Trying to copy more successful brands. Zero stars, do not recommend.
The thing about trying to copy a strategy is that you're not seeing all the parts as they move together. You'll end up burning out trying to keep up with a strategy that wasn't meant for you.
6 | Thinking you need the sun, moon and stars to be successful.
The thing I hear most often is... I need more. If I just had nicer photos, more followers, cute brand photos, a fancier product, a fancy camera etc. it would be easier. Could these things help? Yes, but the reality is that if you understand who you are, what you do and how you serve customers and clients, all the extra things are just the cherry on top.
After investing thousands of hours and dollars into learning how to market my biz, I know how to use content to market and sell.
I did it without all the fancy stuff, and without the cingey stuff like DMing anyone who liked my photos.
I'd love to show you how to do the same. But this isn't one of those get results by tomorrow type of thing.
It will require effort, and you need to be willing to push past your fears and doubts so that you can show up confidently to market your biz.
