Joe Bob Newman grew up in west Texas. He has been writing mystery and suspense books since 1982. His thirty-five-year business career has been in writing technical documents for the U.S. defense industry. By profession, he is a mechanical engineer P.E. (Retired). Newman writes with a sense of history and actual detail. He draws from his own experiences in his books. When he writes of a dry creek bed, that creek bed is actually there.
