As an artist who has always been interested in art, I find drawing to be a great way to reduce stress and clear my mind. It's a therapeutic activity that allows me to explore my imagination and escape from the stresses of everyday life. Using the mind's eye, I can free my mind and reduce my stress level in a few strokes.
Drawing from your mind's eye is essentially drawing from whatever comes to your mind, without any preconceived plan or idea. That's where the magic begins. It's a great way to let your imagination run wild and see where it takes you. This type of drawing can be incredibly liberating, as there are no rules or expectations to follow. It's just you, your Apple pencil, your iPad and your imagination.
To explore this concept further, I decided to create a painting using my iPad and Procreate software. There are rules though. I only use black and white colors or one color plus white. This limitation allows me to focus entirely on the lines and shapes I am creating, as opposed to worrying about color schemes and combinations.
I begin by drawing a simple shape and then build upon it, letting my mind's eye guide me. I don't have any specific direction in mind, I simply draw whatever comes to me in the moment. This process is incredibly freeing, and I feel a wonderful liberation.
As I draw, I notice something that is visually and emotionally stimulating. Without a plan, I am letting my creative energy flow freely and allowing the artwork to take its own direction. The end result is an abstract painting full of shapes and textures that are inspired by my imagination. The experience of creating this kind of art is incredibly rewarding and liberating. It helps me break free from expectations and preconceived ideas, enabling me to focus more on the process than the end result. Drawing from my mind's eye is now something I do regularly when I'm feeling stressed or overwhelmed as it helps me channel my creativity into something productive while also allowing me to express myself in a unique way.
If you're looking for a stress-relieving activity that enables you to expand who you are, drawing from your mind's eye using an iPad with an apple pencil is definitely worth trying! You'll quickly feel liberated as you see your ideas come to life and find joy in the process.
