Hopefully, by now, I’ve really pounded in the importance of video content for your social media platforms. Short and long form video remains the leading form of content to grab your followers’ attention. But for this weekly check-in email, I want to focus on the Thumbnail for your video.
A Thumbnail is a small image that represents a larger image or video. This is the first impression for your web content and social media platforms. They need to be sharp!
But what if you don’t have access to a videographer or a graphic designer) to design and post Thumbnails for you?
Well, we now have AI. For better or worse, Artificial Intelligence is now mainstream, and as small business owners and industry influencers, you can use it for online marketing.
Here’s how: Using your favorite AI tool (ChatGPT is my go-to for ideas but then I use Canva to generate images), enter key details about your target customer, your video topic, and then ask it to create five to seven thumbnail concepts. Once generated, download your favorites and use them for your thumbnails. Easy!
Here’s an example: I need five thumbnail concepts for our best social media practices video. The thumbnails should make my target audience feel creative, inspired, and confident. I want the visuals to be bold and attention-grabbing but not aggressive or pushy.
