Where I get inspiration

Where I find inspiration for knitting baby cardigans, hats & socks

I gather ideas from a wonderful mix of resources that spark creativity and help me create beautiful, practical pieces:

• Colour charts – These are my go-to for planning lovely, harmonious colour combinations. They help me pick soft, gentle shades that suit little ones, and show how different hues work together for stripes, motifs, or subtle patterns.

• Knitting books – I turn to pattern books and craft guides for classic and modern designs, detailed stitch instructions, sizing tips, and tried-and-tested constructions. They’re full of reliable ideas for shaping cardigans, the perfect fit for hats, and durable, comfy socks.

• Pinterest – This is where I discover endless fresh inspiration! I browse photos of finished projects, see how other knitters combine colours and textures, find new stitch patterns, and adapt ideas to make them my own. It’s great for seeing what looks lovely in real life and getting ideas for details like edgings, buttons, or little decorative touches.

Together, these sources give me everything I need — from choosing colours and patterns to bringing my own unique style to every item I knit.
