Leslie Phelan is a Toronto-based artist and writer, best known for her debut novel Lovesick Little, a modern retrofitting of Hans Christian Andersen’s famous 1837 fairy tale, The Little Mermaid. Looking to bridge the sizeable gap between the original story’s more poignant, moving trajectory and the entertaining but comparatively sterile version more familiar among those of her generation, Leslie set out to tell Andersen’s story from a brand new angle, transplanting the veins of an iconic classic into the heart of a brand new adventure. https://lesliephelan.com
