My name is David Weatherall. I work as an art teacher in Treorchy Comprehensive School, located in the beautiful, rainy South Wales valleys.
The original inspiration for this story came while reading to my son around four years ago. Wishing to pass on my love of art and educate him in colour theory, I couldn't find any books that conveyed this simple idea in a visually engaging, thought provoking way. The premise was therefore to write and illustrate a children's book set in a deliberately abstract and painterly world that would surprise the reader with every turn of the page and hopefully linger in the mind when the story was finished.
