ISSUE NO 2 | Natural - PRiCE Douglas

Mood that inspired a photo shoot + book / capturing masculinity in a vulnerable state

I was spending some time in Houston. I had been traveling that morning. And it was hot both outside and inside. I finally had time to kill.

Sweating. Getting comfortable. I wanted to strategically use this spare time to relax and re-charge. Reconnect with myself. Re-center. I had been busy.

And even though it was hot, the sun was only partly showing through thick clouds. But the air was HUMID. STICKY. Parts of me were sticking to other parts of me.

My room was quiet. I don't think anyone was around in the whole building, except the first floor. Middle afternoon. Lights and tv off.

I wasn't hungry or thirsty.

I didn't need anything.

I LOVED this moment. I was IN this moment. My mind was nowhere else.

I wanted to capture it. I set up the camera, forgot about it and let it go.

An hour went by. Afterward I took the best moments that captured what I was feeling. The heat. The humidity. The calm. Being present with myself. Being comfortable.

I curated the photos that best captured eveything - and the end result was ISSUE NO 2 | Natural - PRiCE Douglas. More 👇

ISSUE NO 2 | Natural - PRiCE Douglas

Will you connect to something from this moment I had? Will you recognize yourself during a similar time? Or could it possibly inspire you to have a moment like this today - and capture it?

I'm proud of my 2nd issue and can't wait to start the next one.

Masculinity expressed in photography. My masculinity. My daily life. That is my goal to capture and share.
