Sinners Earns 16 Oscar Award Nominations

Awards season just crowned a new heavyweight, and Sinners is standing firmly at the center of the spotlight. The film’s momentum has been undeniable for months, but today it made history: Sinners earned an astonishing 16 Oscar Award nominations, the most ever received by a single film. This milestone surpasses the long‑standing record previously held by All About EveTitanic, and La La Land, placing Ryan Coogler’s latest masterpiece in a league of its own.

Coogler’s genre‑defying drama continues to push boundaries, earning recognition across the Oscars’ most prestigious categories. The film is nominated for Best PictureBest Director, and Best Original Screenplay, along with standout acting nominations for Michael B. Jordan (Lead Actor),

Delroy Lindo (Supporting Actor), and Wunmi Mosaku (Supporting Actress).

Since its April release, Sinners has dominated the box office, becoming the highest‑grossing domestic film in 15 years. It’s another powerful chapter in Coogler’s remarkable run—from Fruitvale Station to Creed to Black Panther, he has consistently proven that telling our stories isn’t just profitable; it’s necessary.

Today’s historic nominations are a testament to the cast, crew, and the communities that championed this film from day one.

Congratulations to everyone involved.
