So many changes are happening in the social media space that I wanted to share a few of these tips to help you grow your business and change the way you look at and use social media marketing.
1. Your Actions & presence should be driven by your goals
Everything you do needs to be led by your goals. You determine your objective FIRST and create your strategy SECOND. Sounds simple but you'd be amazed how many entrepreneurs forget to plan their attack.
Today, as you prepare your social media content, ask yourself if what you're posting supports the goal you're trying to reach? If not, adjust and try again.
Sometimes just changing a little wording can have a huge impact.
2. Repurpose Your Content
The biggest mistake I see people make is not utilising content they've already created.
USE what you already have!
Have a podcast? Turn it into a blog post. Turn that blog post into 3 social media graphics.
Have 10 blog posts? Post 1 each month for 10 weeks.
Have some social media posts you already posted? Post them again.
Have a video? Cut it down into small videos for social teasers.
And, don't forget to REPOST your content on multiple channels to increase your exposure.
Get the most out of your content!
3. Always Use The Newest Feature
If you want to get the highest reach, always use the newest rolled out features. Social platforms favour their newest features and they'll show them to more people.
The early adopters get rewarded!
4. Engagement: Questions & Comments
Talk to your people. Talk to your followers. Ask them questions. Get to know them. COMMENT back to them.
Engagement is currency. The more you give, the more you get.
5. Learn From Someone Who's Already Done It
No matter where you are in your marketing, social media, or even business. There's someone who has been where you are. SEEK them out and do what they do.
I’m almost obsessed with learning - I started working in social media over 10 years ago. Social media marketing was very different. I decided to learn everything I could about marketing, I followed experts until I knew what they knew. Doing this allowed me to feel confident in social media marketing and it helped position me as an expert in this field.
Hope you found some value here. Let me know in the comments!
