Terror Monthly horror anthology book Christmas volume by The Butchered Writers.

TBW-4 Hardcovers, A gift from ClawMarker, chat shenanigans, silly marketers

I've received my hardcover copies of Terror Monthly Vol1 and Vol12 in the mail recently and I must say, they look fantastic. There's just something about a hardcover, ya know? Brooke Lockman's art is on the cover of these two, and it looks amazing. You should really think about checking her out if you're in the market for a book cover. The hardcover for The Best of Terror Monthly should arrive at my house in the next couple of days. I have my fingers crossed that it looks and feels as good as these two!

My good friend and artist ClawMarker that lives across the pond from the U.S. was so gracious to send me some prints of my favorite clown, Pennywise!

ClawMarker Artwork is another of our artists in The Butchered Writers. You'll see him on an upcoming republished cover of Terror Monthly Vol2. We have quite a bit to do before it'll be ready, but I'm itching to get my hands on the hardcover of this one.

The chat this week was full of story ideas, dinner pics, and Bday wishes for ClawMarker. Danny came up with a challenge to toss out three words and see if you could write a story containing them. Winona was up for said challenge, and did not disappoint! I hope she doesn't mind me posting it:

"Sometimes you have to build a better mousetrap," she said while testing the tension behind the trigger. If she had told him once, she had told him a thousand times to stay out of her refrigerator. She had bought the mini fridge especially for the treats she did not want to share. Some might say a spring loaded butcher knife was overkill, but clearly asking nicely wasn't working. Some things called for more extreme measures.

I must admit that I checked my fridge for traps after reading this one. You never know how the wife is feeling. We also got into discussing how the live action remakes have become trendy, and basically they shouldn't be. There's just something that the cartoon versions bring that silly human actors and CGI can't touch. Later, Brooke stopped in to talk with Sarah about how terrible their driving is. Waiting on Stop signs to turn green, turning down your radio so you can see better, getting honked at and yelling 'go around' and then getting mad because they got passed. I know a couple of ladies I hope I never see on the roads!

If the sign of doing a good job posting on social media is getting DM's from people trying to sell services about your book, then we are SMASHING it! I don't mind the first 'feeler' message, but after I say we're not looking for any services, don't ask me why. That's just dumb and disrespectful. That will work zero percent of the time. It'll get you blocked. Also, don't ask me what my inspiration is for writing and how long I've been writing if you can't tell me what my genre is. Crazy.

Anyways, I'll wrap this post up with a video with a couple more pics of the hardcovers.
