As investigators, detectives, or federal agents, you are the thin line of resistance racing the clock, chasing patterns, and entering the minds of killers before they strike again. The late 70s are remembered as a boom in serial killings because the system itself was broken. Mobility gave predators freedom to roam highways and state lines, law enforcement databases were primitive, and cooperation between jurisdictions was minimal. Killers learned to exploit the chaos. They vanished into the cracks, while police struggled with typewriters, stacks of paper reports, and burned-out detectives who had seen too much.
This is not a story of heroes and villains in the old sense. It is a story of the hunt, of men and women who stared into the abyss of the human psyche and tried to make sense of it before the next life was claimed.
The year is 1979. The streets are loud, the nights are long, and the bodies are starting to pile up.
