I wanted to share some funny stories this time. Heavenly Father is in every little detail. I honestly think that He has a sense of humor. These are about dating experiences.
Dragon Boy
I am going to the institute like any other day. Some guy stops me and starts talking to me (aka. trying to flirt) He proceeds to ask me on a date. I say yes. A few days later, he picked me up for the date. He drives me to the first dam (a big area with a lake) to have a picnic. He makes p and j sandwiches and chips for dinner. I thought it was a cute idea until the ducks wanted some and we were surrounded and kept getting attacked.
During dinner, he proceeded to tell me about his family problems, how he went to jail and then later joined the church, and bared his testimony. At this point, I wasn't sure if I should be scared or weirded out. Most of the time, I just nodded my head. What to say to someone who went to jail… I am glad that you made it out?
After the picnic, he suggests that we should climb a tree. I was too afraid to say no so we did. I was too short to reach the nearest branch so he had to boost me up like a little kid. We just sat there for 20 minutes. Who sits in a tree?? Apparently me. In the tree, he told me that he had been on 200ish first dates that year and none of them had ever been on a second date. I felt pity for the guy because he seemed proud yet sad about that.
He asks if I have more time to do something else and I say yes. I don't know why I keep saying yes but I do. We go back to his car and he asks me to draw a picture of a dragon because those are his favorite. I drew him a picture on his iPad and he told me about the dragon. He says that he knows me better because of how I drew it. I drew a more rounded soft dragon which meant I was a kind person. That is all I remember but he said some other things. I felt so awkward that he was judging my art and me simultaneously. I barely know him and he was making assumptions about me. Don't get me wrong, we all do it at first but the date is getting to know someone not assuming.
Finally, he drove me home. I said I had fun and walked in. I usually give the guy a hug or something before I go but I just hurried into the door. Later I found out from a mutual friend that he broke up with me. My friend told me that the guy thought that I moved too fast so he broke up with me. We only went on one date and he didn't even tell me that we broke up too. It was funny overall. 🤣

Ghosted
We went on a date in the summer time a month or two before Nathan and I started dating. It was good but he ghosted me after the date. So a few months later, Nathan and I have been dating for awhile. This guy texted me saying he would like to go on another date and that he was in a bad place before but he is all good now. I replied to him and told him that I was already dating someone. Later I was showing Nathan and he accidentally hit the call button and threw the phone back at me. He answers and I proceed to say that I didn't mean to hit the call button and so on. It was probably the most awkward phone call that I have ever had. He just said one or two words. I kept babbling because I felt awkward. Eventually I just said goodbye to him and he hung up.

Junior Prom
We started out with dinner and pictures at a friend's house. During pictures, the photographer told him to put his hand on the bottom of mine. Instead he put his hand awkwardly near yet not touching. This is still one of my favorite awkward photos. There will be a photo below for you to see. Soon after, we start to head off. I got to admit that he did have a sweet old fashioned car. When he was backing down the driveway, he ran into the brick wall that was at the end of the driveway. (He went back the next day to put it back together). He got out, confused. He wasn't sure what to do. I can't remember if he just drove off or went to talk to his friend's parents. The whole way there he barely talked and then we danced for maybe 3 or 4 songs and he had me back home before 10. It was the most eventful yet uneventful night.
