Why I Started: Because Representation Matters
📅 June 20th — Storytelling With Purpose
“I didn’t see books that looked like him… so I made them myself.” 💛
That sentence—spoken from the heart—sums up how Tiny Tee Books began.
There were plenty of books out there for toddlers. But too few where the main character had brown skin. Too few where a little Black boy could see himself giggling, learning, exploring, and growing.
That’s when I knew: if I couldn’t find them, I’d create them.
📘 Why Representation in Children’s Books Is So Important:
🧠 It builds confidence
💬 It encourages self-expression
📚 It normalizes diversity
💛 It teaches every child that they matter
Books like Big Feelings, Little Me and Learn to Potty With Me are more than stories—they’re mirrors. They tell Black and Brown children, "You belong on every page."
👦🏾 Meet Brax
The heart of Tiny Tee Books is inspired by one very real little boy—my grandson. Brax represents so many of our babies: curious, bright, silly, strong, and deeply loved.
He’s the reason this brand exists. And through him, we share stories that empower, affirm, and celebrate all children.
✨ Today’s Takeaway:
If something is missing in the world… your voice might be the one meant to fill the gap.
Whether you're a parent, educator, or creator: keep building what our kids need.
Thanks for being part of this mission.
💛 Keep reading. Keep dreaming. Keep showing up.
