Today, we pause.
We pause to remember the lives lost, the bravery shown, and the unity that followed on September 11, 2001. For so many of us, this day is more than just a date—it’s a memory that shaped us forever.
I still remember waking up and thinking it was just a movie playing on TV. I walked into our family living room and saw my dad staring at the same images, still playing over and over. I asked him, “Did you start this movie from the beginning?” And I’ll never forget his response:
“This isn’t a movie. This is real life.”
That’s when he began to explain the unimaginable tragedy that was unfolding. I was devastated. I was scared.
At the time, I was in the Army Reserves, and the weight of that moment hit differently. I didn’t know what was coming next. I cried—deeply and helplessly. Then the news came about the third plane, the one headed to the Pentagon that was diverted thanks to the bravery of passengers who refused to let evil win.
That hit even closer to home—because my uncle was at the Pentagon that day.
Those heroes saved his life.
And in many ways, they gave me more time with my family than I could’ve imagined.
At Tiny Tee Books, we know that stories matter. Some are joyful and silly, and others are heavy with history. But all of them—every scribble, every word—teach us something.
Today, we share books with children to build strength, hope, and heart. But we also carry forward the stories that shaped who we are. We remember. We teach. We grow.
🕊️ To the heroes, the helpers, the survivors, and the families—you are not forgotten.
Thank you for letting Tiny Tee Books be part of your family’s journey.
Read more, reflect more, and remember always.
