Story

Kami wasn’t a fan of outdoor activities, but she agreed to join her friends on a light trail hike over the weekend. They told her the walk would be easy, with beautiful views and few obstacles. Kami hesitated but ended up going — more for the company than for the trail itself.

The beginning was actually fun, but on the way down, with the slippery ground and loose rocks, the unexpected happened. Kami slipped on an unstable rock and fell hard on her leg. She tried to get up, but the pain only got worse.

Her friends, in a panic, called the local rescue team. While they waited, they propped Kami’s leg up on a backpack to keep it elevated.

At the hospital, the diagnosis was clear: a small fracture in her tibia. Kami was immediately taken to the casting room. There, the doctor explained that there were two treatment options: surgery or immobilization with a cast. Kami chose the cast. During the application, she was surprised to see that the cast covered her entire leg.

Her friends waited outside, nervously exchanging messages and trying to hide their worry. Until, at the end of the hallway, a wheelchair appeared, drawing everyone’s attention. Kami was approaching, with a large white cast covering her leg from thigh to foot.

Her friends, relieved to see her okay, immediately started joking, wanting to draw on the cast and fill it with silly doodles. But Kami didn’t let them. She just wanted to go home.

Her friends settled her on the couch, with a warm cup of tea and her pain medication beside her.

Kami’s video begins at this moment.
