Story
Caterina was always vain and a bit fussy. She was the type to complain if a nail chipped or her hair wasn’t just right. One day, during a trial aerial dance class, she slipped while coming down the fabric and landed badly on the floor. The pain in her foot was immediate and intense.
At the hospital, the diagnosis came: a metatarsal fracture. Much to her dismay, she would have to wear a cast for several weeks. Caterina nearly cried when she saw the technician preparing the thick, white cast. She tried to argue, but there was no alternative.
What bothered her the most was realizing that her toes would be completely exposed at the end of the cast. “Seriously, it’s going to stay like this? Everyone will see my toes?” she muttered, clearly uncomfortable. To make matters worse, her toes were still dirty with plaster, standing out even more against the white cast. Just thinking about going out in public like that made her feel embarrassed.
