Free Chocolate on Valentine’s Day

It was February 14th, Valentine’s Day. In Japan, it’s traditional for girls to give chocolate to boys on this day.

I bought 100 KitKats, wrote little messages on each one, and decorated them with yarn. Then, I hit the streets.

I was a bit nervous since it was my first time doing something like this in my hometown.

When people shared their stories of feeling love, it felt like the atmosphere would instantly fill up with warmth, so I asked, “When was the last time you felt love?” as I gave them the chocolate.

I got to hear all kinds of stories about different ways people feel love, which was really heartwarming.

Actually It wasn’t easy—some people smiled and accepted the chocolate, while others walked away—but I managed to give out all 100 chocolates.
