Sugar & Spice comprises 260+ sounds inspired by the stage keyboards and polyphonic synthesizers of the 80s and 90s. Although the presets focus on playability, more radical morphing is immediately available via Hive’s XY Pads (there are over 100 examples of this in the extra XY Showcase folders). Experienced keyboard players will appreciate the nuanced velocity and aftertouch response.
As the name suggests, this soundset comes in two halves: Sugar by Michael Cavallo and Spice by u-he’s own Howard Scarr. Combining different approaches to sound design is almost a guarantee for variety, and this soundset continues a tradition set by Hive Science and Metaphorium.
