N°48 - Issue 01 - Shadows of Tyranny, Light of Resistance

N°48 is a magazine created by the platform Dabdabat. It aims to bring together interdisciplinary viewpoints, actions and stories on our ongoing challenges related to geopolitics, ecology, technology, arts and culture. Challenging the status quo, we highlight issues and alternatives related to environmental and social justice, indigenous perspective, decolonial practice and collective liberation.

In this first issue of N°48, “Shadows of Tyranny, Light of Resistance” we echo a range of voices responding to the ongoing genocidal war on Gaza. As we have witnessed across the so-called modern world, the repression of the basic right to freedom of expression is escalating—from Germany’s systemic silencing of Palestinian voices, to the European Union’s unwavering support of the Zionist entity, to the United States’ hypocrisy in sending both aid and weapons simultaneously.

This issue brings together voices from academia, civil society, and the art world to address the many forms of resistance against occupation, repression, and apartheid. How do people around the world express solidarity—from traditional protests and direct actions such as blocking harbors that transport weapons, to targeting the buildings of companies that manufacture and export arms to the Zionist entity, to creative acts of resistance through writing, music, and choreography (?).

The document is 150 pages with both English and Arabic translations of essays, poetry and artworks.

80% of profits will go to Palestinian families and organizations.

20% will help in printing and distributing this issue.

رقم 48 هي مجلة طوّرتها منصة ذبذبات، وتهدف إلى جمع وجهات نظر متعدّدة التخصصات، وأفعالًا، وحكايات تتناول التحديات المستمرة التي نواجهها في ما يتعلق بالجيوسياسة، والبيئة، والتكنولوجيا، والفنون، والثقافة. وبمقاربتها النقدية للواقع، تسعى المجلة إلى إبراز القضايا والبدائل المرتبطة بالعدالة البيئية والاجتماعية، ومنظورات الشعوب الأصلية، والممارسات المناهضة للاستعمار، ومسارات التحرر الجماعي.

في هذا العدد الأول من رقم 48 تحت عنوان "ظلال الإستبداد، نور المقاومة"، نمنح صدىً لمجموعة واسعة من الأصوات التي تفاعلت مع الحرب الإبادية الجارية على غزّة. وكما شهدنا في مختلف أنحاء ما يُسمّى بالعالم الحديث، فإن قمع الحق الأساسي في حرية التعبير آخذ في التصاعد: من إسكات ألمانيا المنهجي للأصوات الفلسطينية، إلى الدعم غير المشروط الذي تقدّمه دول الاتحاد الأوروبي للكيان الصهيوني، إلى نفاق الولايات المتحدة التي ترسل المساعدات والأسلحة في الوقت نفسه.

يجمع هذا العدد أصواتًا من الأوساط الأكاديمية، والمجتمع المدني، والعالم الفني، لمناقشة أشكال المقاومة المتعددة في مواجهة الاحتلال والقمع والفصل العنصري. كيف يعبّر الناس حول العالم عن تضامنهم؟ من الاحتجاجات التقليدية والأفعال المباشرة، مثل إغلاق الموانئ التي تُنقل عبرها الأسلحة، إلى استهداف مباني الشركات المصنّعة والمصدّرة للسلاح إلى الكيان الصهيوني، وصولًا إلى الأعمال الإبداعية للمقاومة عبر الكتابة والموسيقى والكوريغرافيا (؟).
