2017 Australian Badge Guide: Anzac Day buttons, badges and pins

We are proud to present to you our 6th edition of this our most popular Australian Badge Guide – the 2017 Anzac Day Australian Badge Guide.  That’s right we have been refining this guide since 2012 and genuinely believe this to be our best yet.

We hope you like it.  We have once again completely revamped the Guide, and its structure, and continue to include the backs of badges too.  It has been a labour of love, and worth it.

Some 102 pages in length, with 271 references, and some 661 Anzac Day badge images, this makes this Australian Badge Guide a must have for serious collectors and those who are just fascinated by Australia’s social and cultural history.  Who knows, perhaps you too will become an even greater badge enthusiast.

Interestingly, Anzac Day commemorations were first observed on Australia Day in 1915 (30 July 1915, with the first “official” Anzac Day commemoration being observed on 13 October 1915 as part of the tradition 8 hour day holiday celebration). Despite being officially observed on 25 April 1916, Anzac Day also continued to be observed under other names including Remembrance Day and Gallipoli Day.

Other interesting details included in the Guide include the first observance of Anzac Day at the Australian War Memorial (later than you may first think), and references to Anzac Day badge guides in Australia’s newspaper archive. This Guide looks to correctly document these important historical artefacts which, if eBay is any Guide, continue to grow in value as the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing now shows.
