Like Gilles Deleuze's Difference and Repitition, the conclusion to this book can be read first. The journey ends at the starting point, after an extraordinary tour of the question of being or non-being, from Hamlet's tragic question on stage, past the love letters of Sartre (the author of Being and Nothingness), through the savage shadows of the British underworld, finally escaping in to the bright-lights of Hollywood. It is an endearing exploration of the intellectual friendship of Gilles Deleuze and Jacques Lacan which ended bitterly but with a possible reconciliation at the end of the adventure.
