A Life in the Day of Nathan Jake (Incomplete)
A Life in the Day of Nathan Jake (Incomplete) is the debut pamphlet from poet Jake Nathan. Combining two of his passions, the pamphlet is composed of poems written to the titles of hip-hop songs.
"If words were ice skates Jake Nathan would be both Torvill and Dean" - David Chidge
"Don’t call this a debut, Jake Nathan’s been here for decades, as thoughtful experience and razor-sharp intelligence blast from these pages, louder than the classic hip-hop anthems he’s chosen as his titles." - S. Reeson
"This is Jake at his most emotional, angry, powerful, & tender. These poems are both whispers & screams, both shattered & carefully stitched back together." - Fiona Broadhurst
"This album of words inspired by hip hop titles cradles those who struggle in a world torn apart by men who could do with a cuddle." - Annaliese Broughton
"This is mastery. Whether on the page or behind a mic, Jake writes with intention. Every bar is accounted for and hip hop fans will recognise the lineage. I still find a new favourite line whenever I pick it up." - Em Hunter
