Children have looked at the stars for centuries wondering what might be up there. Is the moon made of cheese? Are the stars holes in the sky? All this changed with the advent of space travel in the mid 20th century. Suddenly we were able to go and explore our small part of the universe and finding out more.

This lesson plan imagines an adventure into space and gives you some space themed wellbeing and relaxation techniques to help you float in space and still feel calm and relaxed when the lesson is over and our feet are back on the Earth. You also get a copy of my Space Adventure meditation MP3 which can be played as part of the lesson to really help the children to relax.

This lesson plan is age appropriate and includes relaxation techniques such as breathing techniques and simple yoga poses as well as basic mindfulness strategies.

Mindfulness and relaxation have been proven to increase children's concentration, create a calm atmosphere and even increase attainment. It is a wonderful addition to any setting.

All my lesson plans are created for people with no prior knowledge of relaxation and mindfulness techniques and carefully go through every technique step by step. They also include a fun script for you to read through which incorporates all the techniques learned into an enjoyable, relaxing story which is completely age appropriate.

My lessons all come with child and teacher assessment sheets which are fully editable and enable you to show evidence for the progress and learning for each child.

This lesson is most suitable for KS1 and KS2 (4-11 years).
