The Mountain that Learned to Move
The Mountain That Learned to Move
Age Range: 8–12 | Themes: growth mindset, persistence.
Kuro, a stubborn mountain, believes that mountains should not move. A young girl named Mei visits him daily, telling him stories of things that do move, like rivers and bamboo. One day, a rockslide from Kuro blocks the village's water channel. Mei asks Kuro if he could lean just a little to help. At first, Kuro resists, but then, remembering Mei's stories, he tilts ever so slightly. This small movement is enough to shift a key boulder and allow the water to flow to the village again. Kuro remains a mountain, but he has learned the importance of being able to move and adapt when necessary
What small shift could change the flow of something in your life?
