It is for those who want to follow the seasons more closely, reconnect with the old ways, and build a quieter, steadier relationship with journalling, folklore, moon work and seasonal living.
Each month you’ll find a growing collection of seasonal pieces to read, reflect on and return to in your own time.

The Elder Cottage Almanac
At the heart of The Founding Circle is a new monthly publication from The Elder Cottage.
Each Almanac is written and designed from scratch, following the Moon, seasons and changing landscape through folklore, astrology, Tarot, plants and trees, old ways, elemental work, rituals, journal pages, home and hearth, and plenty more besides.
September 2026 — The Turning Light is the first edition, following the Harvest Moon and Autumn Equinox as summer begins to give way to autumn.

I’m Louise, the keeper and key holder behind The Elder Cottage.
When I’m not at Ritual Bliss, this is where I write, teach, read Tarot and create seasonal work shaped by the turning year.
The Founding Circle was created as a quieter, more grounded membership space — somewhere to gather the moon pages, Almanac pieces, folklore, reflections and gentle practices that help us notice the season we are actually living in.
If you enjoy old ways, seasonal rhythm, journaling and a softer way of moving through the month, you’ll feel right at home here.
