When simplicity is required, Jane is the perfect garment. She is just perfect for slipping on over sundresses and frolicking in the Spring sunshine.

Jane has a simple yet unusual construction, that can only be described as a hybrid raglan. It is also completely seamless, extremely sparing on yarn, and is a simple yet interesting knit.

An adult version of this pattern is available here.

Construction:

The bodice is constructed using a hybrid raglan yoke construction. This is an unusual take on the traditional raglan , with the increases only worked on the back of the garment. The cast-on stitches form the neck and front edges of the bodice’s yoke. Stitches are picked up along the edges of the rows to form the front of the cardigan.

This garment is designed to be close fitting and fits across the back with slight negative ease. This ease is worked into the sizing. The sleeves in this garment are designed to be quite slim, with approximately ½”/1.5cm of positive ease around the upper arm.
