London
ONLY DIGITAL INSTRUCTIONS
You can now build a Harry Potter themed model of London in the style of an Architecture set.
Concerning Harry Potter references: the model includes the Ministry of Magic with a red telphone box in front, Diagon Alley, the Leaky Cauldron, 12 Grimmauld Place, Platform 9 3/4 with the Hogwarts Express and the Knight Bus.
Apart from that the model is a detailed and mostly accurate recreation of Westminster (London), including the Westminster Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Parliament Square Garden with a Sir Winston Churchill statue, His Majesty's Revenue and Customs, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, the Cenotaph, King Charles Street Arch, Downing St, the Supreme Court and the Norman Shaw Buildings (formerly New Scotland Yard). Furthermore parts of the Westminster Pier and St James's Park can be seen. The facade covering Platform 9 3/4 is that of St Pancras Station. However, due to space constraints, it wasn't possible to recreate the entire building and it couldn't be placed at its real-life location.
Also included is an underground section of the Tube, a few red buses, black taxis and red telephone boxes.
I didn't include the Portcullis House (corner Bridge Street/Victoria Embankment), but instead recreated the building that used to stand there (St Stephen's Club). This building was demolished in 1970, Portcullis House was completed in 2001. Harry Potter (5) takes place in 1995, meaning there was a construction site during the events of Harry Potter. Since construction sites aren't very pretty I decided to go with the building that used to stand there.
Here you can see a photo of the building that used to be there: https://www.londonpicturearchive.org.uk/view-item?i=130155
