Knitting Pattern No.30 Micro Preemie/0-3 Months Girl's Frilly Cardigan

Instructions for a reborn or baby girl's frilly cardigan. The pattern is available in 9 sizes in either 4ply or DK yarn depending on which size you wish you knit. The cardigan is a raglan design with layers of frills with the raglan shaping of the sleeves. The cuffs and welts are made up of a single frill. When knitted, it will fit 10"-22" (25cm-55cm) height, approx 1lb-0/3 month baby or reborn.

You will need

10” or 25cm Height (Approx 1lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply, 4 buttons, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch, spare needles to hold frills.

11” or 27.5cm Height (Approx 1-1.5lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply, 4 buttons, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles or dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch, spare needles to hold frills.

12” or 30cm Height (Approx 1.5lb Prem) Size

100g DK, 4 buttons, 1 x pr 4mm needles making a tension of 22sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch, spare needles to hold frills.

14” or 30cm Height (Approx 2.5lb Prem) Size

100g DK, 4 buttons, 1 x pr 4.5mm needles making a tension of 20sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch, spare needles to hold frills.

15-16” or 37.5-40cm Height (Approx 3-4lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply, 9 buttons, 1 x pr 2.75mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch, spare needles to hold frills.

16-17” or 40-42.5cm Height (Approx 4-5lb Prem) Size

100g 4ply, 9 buttons, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch, spare needles to hold frills.

18-19” or 45-47.5cm Height (Approx 6-7lb Newborn) Size 

100g 4ply, 9 buttons, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles or dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch, spare needles to hold frills.

20-21” or 50-52.5cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size

100g dk, 9 buttons, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles making a tension of 24sts and 32 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch, spare needles to hold frills.

22” or 55cm Height (0-3 Months) Size

100g dk, 9 buttons, 1 x pr 4mm needles making a tension of 22sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch, spare needles to hold frills.

This makes for an ideal first cardigan, and one that can be kept in a baby's first year collection box as a reminder of when they were that small!

This pattern has been designed by myself so it is in UK terminology. It does not follow the usual ‘shop bought’ format. There are 5 printed pages with clear and easy to follow instructions. All my patterns are tested by independent knitters before they are released, so every effort is made so that they come to you error free.
