E-2D Hawkeye

An E-2D Hawkeye, attached to the “Bluetails” of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 121, launches from the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) while operating in the Pacific Ocean, Dec. 5, 2025. VAW 121 returned to their homeport of Naval Air Station Norfolk after completing a nine-month mission in the U.S. 3rd, 5th, and 7th Fleet area of operations aboard Nimitz, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 11.
