A perfect inspiration in the lyrics of the traditional ballad “The Evergreen”…
“As I rambled out one evening not far away from home
In a spot in aul Clonmany way down in Inishowen…
I gazed around this lovely spot it’s charming to be seen
And in a spot among the rocks I spied the evergreen.”
An evergreen tree panel decorates the top of the foot and leads into a wonderful collection of cable patterns that continue from the instep into the leg – imagine holiday garlands and decorations galore! And although these are our 2017 Holiday Socks, they really are special enough for any time of year.
These toe-up socks begin with a star toe. The short-row heel cap leads into a slip-stitch heel flap (no picking up stitches!) and the top of the sock is finished in a simple rolled cuff for a comfortable fit.

360 (390, 420)yds / 329 (357, 384)m Knit Picks Stroll Fingering Tonal (75% superwash Merino wool, 25% nylon; 462yds per 100g) in Eucalyptus Tonal.

32 stitches and 44 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch, blocked
