Winning in the Endgame
Do you ever find yourself not knowing what to do in the endgame? Do you fear a queen trade because you don't like endings? This course is for you!
I'm a Life Master, and the endgame is one of my specialties. I selected twenty of my own wins in the endgame and annotated them to show various themes and ideas. I chose examples that were instructive, with an emphasis on how to squeeze wins out of positions that look like they really should be a draw. These games are deliberately lightly annotated. I wanted you to focus on the main lessons to learn from each game, without getting bogged down in lots of variations.
I cover
1) How to think in the endgame
2) General principles for how to improve your pieces
3) Practical advice
4) How to bait your opponent into mistakes
5) Typical tactics in the endgame
6) Direct mating ideas in the endgame
7) Typical plans
8) Good and bad bishops
9) Pawn play
And much more!
Players of all levels can benefit from this course, although it was mainly aimed at players 1200-1700 USCF.
