Dolly Milo

A sweet wee dolly version of the quintessential children’s vest pattern, Milo. This little pattern means your wee one and their beloved dolly can be perfectly matchy-matchy, sharing a wardrobe moment that’s sure to delight. It maintains the same style and look as the original Milo: a simple, seamless vest knit in the round from the top down, worked in the same straightforward construction that makes the original so beloved. The doll-sized proportions have been carefully scaled to preserve every charming detail, so the miniature version is every bit as satisfying to knit as its bigger counterpart. Additionally, you can substitute any of the cable options from the Milo pattern to create a perfectly matching mini Milo.

Construction:

Just like the child’s version, Dolly Milo is constructed seamlessly top down beginning with the neckline.

Sizing:

For best fit, measure the chest of your dolly. Just like the child-size version of milo, this garment is slim fitting in nature.

Dolly Milo comes in 4 sizes to suit the following doll types.

Suitable for 12” Waldorf style dolls, My First Disney Princess 15” dolls and other similar sized dolls.

Suitable for 16” Waldorf style dolls, My Little Baby Born, Cabbage Patch Newborns, Little Mommy Baby Dolls and other

similar sized dolls.

11 inches/28cm

Suitable for Australian Girl, American Girl, Gotz Doll, Baby Born, Peterkin, Baby Alive, Cabbage Patch Kid and other similar sized dolls.

Yarn Requirements:

* Bendigo Woollen Mills Classic 8ply (100% wool; 436yd399m/200g) — 1 ball.

* OR 8ply/DK weight yarn of approximately 30/27 (40/37, 50/46, 75/70) yards/metres.

Samples knit in Bendigo Woollen Mills Classic 8ply.

Tension:

22 stitches and 30 rounds = 4 inches in stocking stitch. 

22 stitches and 44 rounds = 4 inches in garter stitch.

It is advisable to swatch in the round and adjust your needles accordingly to ensure you maintain a consistent tension throughout this project.

Needles and Notions:

* US6/4mm: 12”/30cm* circular

* US5/3.75mm: 12”/30cm* circular (optional — many knitters require this size to achieve tension in the garter stitch section.)
