Mr Daydream By Diana Willand
A collection of poems that followed what I view as being a cycle of depression, and how someone can cope with the feelings of loneliness, desperation, and hope. The main coping mechanism I focus on in "Mr Daydream" is maladaptive daydreaming, which is daydreaming that becomes so intense it can feel real and cause stagnation in day to day life. I made a black and white painting for each poem in order to further illustrate the experience of the cycle. The images are all black and white, meant to emphasize the overall theme of loneliness through the stark absence of color.
