I Promise
This activity can be used for New Year resolutions or simply for teaching kids a fun way to keep their promises. Kids might not be able to completely understand “resolutions” as well as adults, this activity was created as a stepping stone for them to learn. This “I Promise” craft will help kids set their new focused goals, maintain their desirable behaviors, or allow them to try to eliminate bad habits.
They can write out each of their promises in the provided template, color ( if desired), cut and fold along the provided guide lines, and put it away in a jar (not provided) or a box (not provided), similar to a capsule. This method will help inspire kids and make their “promises” become more memorable. When an appropriate amount of time has passed, they can pull out their promises and check whether or not they have successfully reached their goals.
This activity is excellent for the classroom. By having each kid write their promises of what they will do more, less, or maintain during class and put it away to be reveal in a month or two to see if they can keep their promises!
