Rich Dad, Poor Dad is a 1997 book by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter. In an autobiographical style, Robert Kiyosaki uses a series of parables and examples from his own life to highlight the importance of developing financial intelligence. He explains how investing, real estate, business creation and acquisition can be used to build wealth and become financially independent.
Based largely on Robert Kiyosaki's childhood in Hawaii, the book presents how the upbringing and advice of two men ("rich daddy" and "poor daddy") influenced key decisions in his life. Both have very different attitudes toward money.
