The Su-25SM is a modernized version of the Sukhoi Su-25, a Soviet-designed ground-attack aircraft, often referred to by its NATO reporting name, "Frogfoot". The Su-25SM is part of an upgrade program that enhances the aircraft’s avionics, survivability, and overall combat effectiveness, allowing it to continue its role in close air support (CAS) and battlefield interdiction well into the 21st century.
