'Stratagem; Rise of the Shadow' is a thought provoking book which is part self-defence and part journey of self discovery.

'Stratagem' adapts the sciences and movements of 16th century sword fencing treatises and ancient roman military tactics (as described by the 4th century Roman military writer, Vegetius in his works 'De Re Militari') into a unarmed fighting survival system, that anyone can employ for self defence in this modern world - whilst drawing from the teachings of ancient philosophers to inspire readers onto a deep path within themselves, enabling them to confront, explore, and draw strength to survive, from their 'darker' unknown side...the part in all of us that the psychologist Carl Jung named 'the shadow'.

By showing them how to combine teachings from ancient martial arts with their hidden, primal, animal inner strengths, 'Stratagem' empowers the reader to conquer setbacks in life, and survive physical confrontations by thinking, training and fighting like an ancient warrior!
