1971 AMC Javelin AMX Concours Restoration
The 1971 AMC Javelin is a completely new design — more aerodynamic, wider, and more aggressive than the 1968-1970 first-generation car. The AMX name, previously a standalone two-seat model, was repositioned as the top performance package within the Javelin lineup. A base Javelin, Javelin SST, and Javelin AMX were the three levels. The 401 ci V-8 — the most powerful engine ever offered in a Javelin or AMX — debuted for 1971.
